Skateboard Protective Pads – Safety First, Then Fun

To fall and learn is the way of life. Children fall down several times when they first learn to walk. Parents become upset and feel sorry for them, but they never stop their child. One after another, children learn new games each having their own rules. But the rule of life to fall and learn remains. To avoid the consequences of the falls one learns to pick up protective means to defend oneself from any major harm. This is why the skateboard protective pads are a must for all skateboarders.

The skateboard protective pads are a set of protective pads for the wrists, elbows, hips and the knees. These are the joints that are most susceptible to fractures or other damage caused as a result of falling down while skateboarding. These protective pads come between the ground and the joint bones to absorb the shock thereby saving the bones.

Wrist pads are used to protect the delicate wrist bones from injury, when a person either falls forwards on the hands, or when one fall sideways. There are high chances of a fracture when a person falls sideways on one of the arms. Besides acting as a shield, the wrist pads are also worn by youngsters for the sake of style. Wrist pads are generally available in the color black. As such they look good with skateboarding apparel of almost all colors.

Ramp skateboarding is considered to be more dangerous than street skateboarding because of the slopes and curves of the ramps as compared to the flat streets. The elbow is more likely to be hurt when a person slips off from a height. The elbow pads are a must for ramp skateboarding, but it does not mean that one can avoid them while skateboarding on the streets. Remember, a fracture of the elbow could virtually mean the fracture of the entire arm, as the elbows form the basis of movement for the arms. Therefore, do remember to wear the skateboard protective pads.

Many a times people do not fall flat on the ground, but instead, they land up on their knees. It is in such times that the need of wearing the kneepads is felt most. So, the skateboarders who consider wearing skateboard protective pads for the knee a hindrance should be prepared to face greater hindrances if they land up with an injured knee.

Suppose if one falls backwards, there is a good possibility of injuring the backbone. For the protection of the vertebral column and the spinal cord within it, skateboarders wear skateboard protective pads (hip/tail pads), which firmly wraps around the waist, for a carefree skateboarding experience.

Some of the features that need to be considered while buying the skateboard protective pads include right size for the right fit, right color to match one’s skateboarding apparel or skateboard and good durable quality of material. A Brief Review of Nike Dunk Pro Sb

The Nike Dunk SBs are Nike’s shoes for skateboarding. These shoes carry the high quality that the shoe company has been known for all these years. Nike started the line in 2002 and since then more than 65 different designs have come out. There is no other brand that can match the variety that Nike Dunks offer to skateboarders.

The Nike Dunk Pro SB look simple but they are really, really good quality skateboarding shoes. Action leather and suede make this model interesting. What makes it so durable is the double stitching employed.

The various styles of Nike Dunks available include the high tops like the Dunk High Pro SB that features a more stylish old-school sole. The Dunk Low Po SB on the other hand, has a sportier look with soles stitched. There are versions for kids as well lie the Baby Dunk SBs that have unique designs targeted at kids only.

The Nike Dunk Pro SBs are designed specifically for skateboarding. The Zoom Air Insoles that Nike uses for all Nike Dunk SBs give the skater a better feeling of the board.
